Solar Energy
Our Holiday cabins are powered exclusively using a custom built solar solution which provide 100% of the electricity year round. All guests who visit and stay with us will be able to download an app for free that will enable them to monitor their own usage at any of the time and check battery storage levels.
BioEthanol Fires
Environmentally friendly and 100% clean, Bioethanol is a renewable energy source produced by a sugar fermentation process. The sugar comes from renewable crops like corn, maize and wheat, so there is a much lower carbon footprint than fossil fuels. When bioethanol fuel is lit inside a bioethanol fireplace, it quickly produces real warming flames, which are a joy to watch and without any of the hassle of woodburner fireplaces.
Recycling/Upcycling and Reusing
As well as being in line with new business recycling regulations for Summer 2023 we also harvest and repurpose all outside water used in Ofuro hot tub and rainwater from the cabins by distributing this to our wildlife wetland on site so there is zero water wastage. You will also notice a number of upcycled pieces of furniture (both indoors and outdoors) around Oakwater Escapes
